He can change you.

Just recently I finished reading an article from an August 2009 Leadership Journal magazine that inspired me to write this blog you are about to witness. It is about a young lady who use to be a bass player in a punk rock band, who is now a Senior Minister of the First Congregational Church ( United Church of Christ ) in Glen Ellyn, Illinois.

I am not really sure if I should use her name so I am not going to, I just want to share with you, that God can change anyone He wants to change if we are obedient to Him. God calls all of us to do His work. He gives us all spritual gifts, and He asks us to use them or should I say He suggests that we use them, or maybe even commands us to use them.

He basically gives us a choice, and it is up to us on how we choose to use them. We are all called to do something ; for example this young lady was called to be a pastor, I was called to lead a Men's Ministry, Emily was called today to read her testimony on how she was changed from just a year ago. God changed her, and God can change anybody and everybody, and He will, but we have to die to ourselves, and put him first in everything.

This more often then not can be a very diifcult task because, we sometimes don't want to give up our old behaviours. We have to make sacrifices. We have to give up earthly habits, and replace them with Godly habits, Replace them with Heavenly habits, and again this can be very difficult.

These things we can't ignore either, because if we do God may have to do things very very dramatic to us to get our attention, and these things can be very scarey, and we have to always hope and pray that some of these dramatic things God does to us doesn't make it to late for us to change, if you know what I mean. God can change anybody. Please let Him do it, and when you do things according to His plan the rewards will be mind boggling. Praise God! From the NASB bible I am going to add a couple of scripture verses that I am sure were responsible for changing this young ladies life, and although I am not sure if it will influence everybody the same way it is worth meditating on, because it just might do the same to everybody.

Revelation 21:2

And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband.

Revelation 21:3-4

And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying " Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them, 4 and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.
