Taking life for granted.

Lets look around for a moment. In more times than not we don't appreciate what we have available to us including loved ones and friends, it seems that we always want more. These moments are very precious moments, and they can be lost in a very short period of time.

Now consider this. Look what happened in Haiti, and in a very short period of time, and a week later they are still looking for survivors. This isn't a news story I am writing, but I think it is a very important blog to inform many people how precious life can really be. When we are born as children and as we grow we encounter many things in life that we are faced with, sometimes wonderful, and sometimes not so wonderful.

We all have our ups and downs, but life on earth is a very short period of time when you think about it. We have fights we even sometimes hold grudges. This isn't what Gods plan is for us. He wants us to get along and enjoy each others company because again life can end very abruptly, either by natural disasters or do to our own decisions. What is precious to us? What is important to us? I can't speak for everybody, but I can speak for myself.

This is what is precious and important to me. God and the gift that He gave to us, Jesus Christ, my wife, my two daughters, my son in law, my grandson, my mother,my step dad, my brother and sister and the few friends I have to name a few. Gods plan for us is not to take life for granted but to enjoy every precious moment of everyday with the gifts that He gave to us, Jesus Christ, our families, and our friends.

I am closing this blog with this scripture verse from the NASB bible.

Ecclesiastes 11:8

Indeed, if a man should live many years, let him rejoice in them all, and let him remember the days of darknes, for they will be many. Everything that is to come will be futillity.

  2. I agree with that, Gary. Very well-written! We all need to stop, think, and realize what we have in our lives that truly means the most to us. A lot of us, at times, will get caught-up with things that aren't essential, but for some reason... treat them as if they're more essential than what actually is in life. Again, very good!
