Brokenness.

When we are born into this life we are born with a brokenness, sometimes with more than one brokenness and in most cases we are cursed with this brokenness all of our lives and sometimes we can be healed of this brokenness depending on who we put in the drivers seat of our lives. Let me clearify what I mean by brokenness. My definition for brokenness in this blog is this. We are born sinners and we are far from perfect, this is how I define brokenness.

Sometimes as we go through life we create our own brokenness because we want to walk in disobedience to God, and when we do this our enemy can trap us and he will. When the enemy has an opportunity to trap us, he will jump at the chance and he will try to keep us there forever. We can't let this happen.

Over the years I've had my share of brokenness, that hasn't changed. There will always be some kind of brokenness in our lives because we are in the flesh, and being in the flesh is never perfect, that is just the way it is, but take note we won't ever be perfect in the flesh, but we can focus on God and be obedient to Him and minimize our brokenness. There are different ways of doing it but the most effective way of doing it is to spend time with God alone everyday.

If I sound like I'm repeating myself on the this task it is because I am, I know I am, but it works, it works very well in my opinion. Being on both sides of the coin it is an experience that won't soon be forgotten. When you start spending quiet time with God everyday, it is like getting dressed everyday, if we don't get dressed everyday we don't feel complete. Like we forgot something and it doesn't feel right.

Although this won't resolve all of our brokenness it is the road to healing, and being more like our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. And it is aknowledged by Him, and we will be awarded for it according to His will. So long as we are in the flesh our sinful nature won't be purified until the day we come before Him, and He takes us into Heaven to live eternally with God The Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit within us.

Here are some scripture verses I found in the NASB Bible that talk about broken. I really can't find antything on brokenness, but I hope these clearify what this blog is about.

GENESIS 17:14

" BUT AN UNCIRCUMCISED MALE WHO IS NOT CIRCUMCISED IN THE FLESH OF HIS FORESKIN, THAT PERSON SHALL BE CUT OFF FROM HIS PEOPLE; HE HAS BROKEN MY COVENANT."

GENESIS 7:11

IN THE SIX HUNDREEDTH YEAR OF NOAH'S LIFE, IN THE SECOND MONTH, ON THE SEVENTEETH DAY OF THE MONTH, ON THE SAME DAY ALL THE FOUNTAINS OF THE GREAT DEEP BURST OPEN, AND THE FLOOD GATES OF THE SKY WERE OPENED.

LEVITICUS 6:28

' ALSO THE EARTHENWARE VESSEL IN WHICH IT WAS BOILED SHELL BE BROKEN; AND IF IT WAS BOILED IN A BRONZE VESSEL, THEN IT SHOULD BE SCOURED AND RINSED IN WATER.

If it is meant to be, it will be.

Hi all I know it has been a long time since I have written a blog, but I've been thinking about this one for a while, and because I am out of practice it may take a few minutes to get refreshed.

If it is meant to be, it will be has been one of my favorite sayings for a long time, and I am constantly reminding the ones I love of this. First I want to start with this statemeant: In our lives we experience a lot of if it is meant to be, it will be's. The most recent one just happened about a month ago. I hope my daughter and son in law don't get angry with me because of what I'm about to say.

My daughter and son in law have been trying to buy a house for awhile, but there were a lot of challenges and obstacles in the way until it finally happened. I won't get into details but I saw their emotions go up and down like an endless rollercoaster, and it wasn't fun I can assure you of that, but I can relate to a similar experience I had 20 + years ago when I wanted to purchase my first house, but my attitude then was a lot different then it is now and I'm glad it changed.

Another example approximately 4 years ago or so it was either my son in law or my daughter were looking for a cat for us, and it was the last one of the litter. We had about 20 minutes to get this cat and if we didn't get it then we would have been out of luck. This was another time when I used the expression; If it is meant to be it will be and it was. The cat was there we took him home and we have had him ever since. There are more examples to this but you know what? I don't have enough time to write or explain it all.

All things that happen to us according to God's will and we don't always understand why they happen or why they don't happen. In His still quiet voice whether it is through His words from the bible or through someone else or however it is presented to us His voice is always saying if it is meant to be it will be, but Keep in mind He says " If It Is According to My Will If It Is Meant To Be It Will Be'" .

Some scripture verses to consider according to the NASB bible:

NUMBERS 14:41-45

41 BUT MOSES SAID, " WHY THEN ARE YOU TRANSGRESSING THE COMMANDMENT OF THE LORD, WHEN IT WILL NOT SUCCEED? 42 " DO NOT GO UP , OR YOU WILL BE STRUCK DOWN BEFORE YOUR ENEMIES, FOR THE LORD IS NOT AMONG YOU. 43 " FOR THE AMALEKITES AND THE CANAANITES WILL BE THERE IN FRONT OF YOU, AND YOU WILL FALL BY THE SWORD, INASMUCH AS YOU HAVE TURNED BACK FROM FOLLOWING THE LORD. AND THE LORD WILL NOT BE WITH YOU." 44 BUT THEY WENT UP HEEDLESSLY TO THE RIDGE OF THE HILL COUNTRY; NEITHER THE ARK OF THE COVENANT OF THE LORD NOR MOSES LEFT THE CAMP. 45 THEN THE AMALEKITES AND THE CANAANITES WHO LIVED IN THAT HILL COUNTRY CAME DOWN, AND STRUCK THEM AND BEAT THEM DOWN AS FAR AS HORMAH.

JOHN 7:17

"IF ANYONE IS WILLING TO DO HIS WILL, HE WILL KNOW OF THE TEACHING, WHETHER IT IS OF GOD OR WHETHER I SPEAK FROM MYSELF.

JOSHUA 24:15

" IF IT IS DISAGREEABLE IN YOUR SIGHT TO SERVE THE LORD CHOOSE FOR YOURSELVES TODAY WHOM YOU WILL SERVE: WHETHER GODS WHICH YOUR FATHERS SERVED WHICH WERE BEYOND THE RIVER, OR THE GODS OF THE AMORITES IN WHOSE LAND YOU ARE LIVING; BUT AS FOR ME AND MY HOUSE, WE WILL SERVE THE LORD.

How the Lord spoke to me.

First, to start this blog, I just want to let you all know that God speaks to us in several ways. It can be through a friend, it can be from our Pastors, it can be through a television or radio message or it can be through the bible which is God's word any way.

However this blog is how God spoke to me through the bible during my devotional time recently one morning, and then more recently I shared it at the men's ministry meeting on Thursday evening march 10, 2011. I will share the scripture verses with you later on in the blog.

One of the things I ask God everyday during my prayer time is; God what is it that You want me to do during this lifetime? And He told me first to obey Him when He tells me to do something. My answer to Him was ok I will try. Then on the next day during my prayer time and my devotional; He said to me carry the light. These that were spoken to me by Him were clear as day! Just like carrying on a regular conversation with Him right next to me in the same room!

This isn't the first experience of had like this either. When God speaks to me; almost all the time it is through the bible. WOW, it is very exciting, and the funny part about it, is these scripture verses I've read hundreds of times, and sometimes you just get it! WOW again! These experiences are the most extraordinary experiences we can ever have! And when we finally get it, it feels real good, and then we ask ourselves " Why didn't I get it before when I have read it a hundred times before? " To answer this question the only thing I can think of is either we weren't listening or we just weren't ready for it at the time.

This is truly the way God works and it is awesome! When we get these answers suddenly, we know that He is always listening, but are we always listening? Food for thought. So in closing this blog, this is my suggestion, everyday so long as we live in this world, and this is just a suggestion, we should always put time aside to spend it with God, and be persistent, don't ever give up, and always talk to God. He is always listening, and he wants that intermate relationship with all of us.

And although the answers don't always come quickly according to our time, they always come, and they come in Gods perfect time, and His time is always perfect even though we don't think so sometimes.

Now for the scripture verses, and these scripture verses are coming from the NASB bible.

Matthew 28:19-20
19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I commanded you and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. "

Psalm 96: 2-3
2 Sing to the Lord, bless His name; proclaim good tidings of His salvation from day to day. 3 Tell of His glory among the nations, His wonderful deeds among all the peoples.

Fresh Snow.

When you see fresh snow on the ground that hasn't even been walked on yet, what do you think of? I think of a fresh start, peace, serenity, unshaken, and a promise. For example: About a week ago we had a pretty strong snowstorm, and as it was falling, it felt brutal, it looked brutal, and was very brutal trying to move around in it, but when it finally stopped it left a beautiful, and serene coating of white behind.

The next day I happen to be walking around ,sporting my camera around my neck searching for that perfect picture. I looked around my neighborhood for awhile but really couldn't find that perfect picture so I was about to give up. I didn't find what I was looking for till the next day after I got out of work.

Around three thirty or so as I was walking up my front stairs to my porch, I looked over my left shoulder and saw the perfect picture that inspired me to write this blog. There was a few shadows and a couple of random sticks laying there in my front yard, but the snow was not interrupted, not even an animal foot print was in the snow. To me it was beautiful! So I walked into my house, and grabbed my camera and took a couple of pictures.
This shot I think was the better of the two so I published it to my blog. I think this picture tells the story best.
This is the way in a lot of cases God works in our lives. When we go through many trials and tribulations that can be very hurtful and very challenging, and we just want to give up. Just like getting stuck traveling in a bad snowstorm you want to give up, your scared, and your challenged, and you just want to get to the other side without the suffering, but then God says" just trust Me, you will be alright, I promise." "I am the One who will give you that peace, that serenity, and that promise, and nobody else in the world can do that for you The way that I can."

" I will carry you through all of your trials and tribulations of your life I always have and I always will. " This is what God says.

Here are some verses of scripture for who ever reads this to meditate on. I get these scripture verses from the NASB Bible.

2 Kings 20: 19

Then Hezekiah said to Isaiah, " The word of the Lord which you have spoken is good." For he thought , " Is it not so, if there will be peace and truth in my days?"

Hebrews 6: 13-14

13 For when God made the promise to Abraham, since He could swear by no one greater, He swore by Himself, 14 Saying, " I will surely bless you and I will surely multiply you."

Mark 4:39

And He got up and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, " Hush be still." And the wind died down and it became perfectly calm.

A life with no direction.

Lately so it seems, I've been thinking a lot about my future, and about where I am going from here, and it hasn't been easy. Surely where I am now in my life I am thankful for what I have, but it seems that there is so much more, but I don't know what it is.

In prayers everyday I am often wondering, and asking God for some kind of direction, but haven't really heard anything or maybe I am not listening. I know God put me here for a reason and He supposedly has some kind of plan for all of us, however I don't know what mine is.

Work has been extremely tough lately, and as a matter of fact it doesn't seem to be getting any easier; So what do I do? Well the only thing I can do is keep on asking God for direction and if he is answering me at all I can only hope that I will hear Him one of these times, and hope that it isn't to late.

Work is getting so tough lately I am finding it a lot more difficult to get up in the morning, and this isn't good or maybe it is just dealing with life in general. Probably the latter. It seems I missed my boat and it isn't coming back anytime soon.

There are so many things in life that I have tried, but to know avail, thus, the reason why I feel so lost. It is tough when you feel that you want to do something in life to serve, and when it isn't acknowledged it makes for a difficult task to carry on. The only thing that is keeping me going is perhaps hope in faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, but He isn't here right in front of me telling me where I am going, what my future holds. I am like a lost sheep and I can't find my way home.

It is discouraging, and what makes it worse; I don't have any idea. I don't really know how to set goals, therefore I really don't have any goals, and this is certainly killing me. He has plans for me, but what are they? How come I don't get it? Why am I here Lord? Why? What is it Lord that You want me to do with my life? What direction do You want me to go in? What is Your goal for me because I don't know?

As I close this blog there are a couple of scriptures I want to add from the NASB Bible, starting with 1 Samuel 9: 11-14

11 As they went up the slope to the city, they found young women going out to draw water and said to them, " Is the seer here?" 12 They answered them and said, " He is; see, he is ahead of you. Hurry now, for he has come into the city today, for the people have a sacrifice on the high place today. 13 As soon as you enter the city you will find him before he goes up to the high place to eat, for the people will not eat until he comes, because he must bless the sacrifice; afterward those who are invited will eat. Now therefore , go up for you will find him at once." 14 So they went up to the city. As they came into the city, behold, Samuel was coming out toward them to go up to the high place.

Hebrews 11:8

By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed by going out to a place which he was to receive for an inheritance; and he went out, not knowing where he was going.

Psalm 82:5

They do not know nor do they understand; They walk about in darkness; All the foundations of the earth are shaken.

Psalm 107:27

They reeled and staggered like a drunkin man, And were at their wits end.

There are so many more scripture verses that have to do with this blog, but I can't write them all. I do hope who ever reads this understands what I am talking about. These are just a tip of the iceberg. If there are any questions about this blog, I will try to answer them to the best of my ability.

Why do we forget?

Life sure throws a lot of curve balls at us everyday, especially in our temporary life that we live in, in this world. The last two weeks have been no exception, and all parties involved are suffering and hurting. What is amazing to me is we try to do everything right, and because of our inadequacies the things we are trying to do, don't turn out right, and all of sudden all of us forget the good things we do for each other.

For example when we work for an employer and we are doing good at the job we are suppose to be doing, we very really get an aknowledgement or a compliment for what we are doing. There are exceptions sometimes from our superiors, but not to often. Family and friends are the same way. We very really get an aknowledgement or compliment on how good we are, for doing what we are doing. It is kind of sad, and I suppose we shouldn't expect it, but sometimes we can't help feeling this way.

Now when we do something wrong or don't live up to each others expectations, we all of sudden forget all the good we have done for one another. Then the anger and fury come, and it doesn't go away quickly at least in some cases. This really hurts again with all parties involved, and even tears of pain and hurt take place. We are all suppose to be working together, and not against each other especially family. So why do we forget? I think the reason why we forget about the good things that we do for each other is because neither one of us are always fond of the environment around us in our daily lives, and, we don't have a lot of control over the complete situation at hand.

This creates anger and stress. We are frustrated. It is like there is this very large wall in front of us, and we can't see around it or look over it we are blinded, we can't see any light, and we wonder; " Where are you God? What is the lesson You want us to learn from this situation? Why did it happen? Please God make it disappear, Please Lord! Please help us Lord, Please help us. Please answer us Lord!." Amen!

I am closing this blog with some scripture verses from the NASB bible and, because ther isn't any bible verses I can find with forget, I will use the ones with forgotten.
Italic
Job 18: 17
Memory of him perishes from the earth, And he has no name abroad.

Ecclesiastes 1:11
There is no remeberance of earlier things; And also of the later things which will occur, There will be for them no rememberance among those who will come later still.

Psalm 103: 12
As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us.

Insignificant.

Did you ever think about how insignificant our lives would be without God? I haven't thought about it to often myself. That is until yesterday after church services were over. I got this strange feeling after comunion was received. I sat down after comunion and I got to thinking about it.

Throuhghout the bible in several scripture verses we are told that without God we can do nothing, this is so true. For example; a beautiful flower or plant whichever you choose starts out as a seed, and if God didn't provide the sunshine and the rain for it to grow it wouldn't grow. Another example; a child in a mother's womb also starts out as a seed, and if God didn't provide the mother with the food and the resources she needs to feed the child the child wouldn't grow either. I could go on forever, but I think who reads this will understand where I am coming from.

If Jesus didn't die on the cross for all of our sins we would have no hope in anything. The ten lepers that Jesus healed in Luke 17: 11- 19, this could not of been possible without God's devine intervention, and the sad part of this all is there are so many people in this world that they think God owes this to them. This is not the case.

God does these things for us because he loves us, not because He has to do them . It all goes back to how insignificant we are without God in our lives. These things would never be possible without God through Jesus Christ. Praise God for all He does for us, and don't ever think God owes us. He gave us more then enough when Jesus went to the cross and dyed for our sins.

I am going to close this blog with scripture from the NASB bible that I hope will make sense to those who read it.

Job 40: 4

Behold, I am insingnificnt; what can I reply to you? I lay my hand on my mouth.

Job 4: 19

From six troubles He will deliver you, Even in seven evil will not touch you.

Matthew 13: 31- 32

He presented another parable, " The Kingdom of Heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field; 32 and this is smaller than all other seeds, but when it is full grown, it is larger than the garden plants and becomes a tree , so that the birds of the air come and nest in its branches. "
